Last Updated: February 8, 2023

GoJoApp (d/b/a Zeal) offers a mobile and web-based application to help people form groups and engage in activities together. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle the personal information we collect in connection with our website, mobile and web applications (the “app”), and related services.

Personal Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Information you provide

  • Contact details, including your name, email address, phone number, and zip code.
  • Profile information, such as your interests and hobbies, and other information you may choose to provide such as your age, birthday, gender, sexual orientation, and marital status.
  • Payment information needed to complete your purchases on the app (including name, payment card information, billing information), and your transaction history. Payment information is processed by our third-party payment processor Stripe, in accordance with Stripe’s privacy policy and terms of service. We do not have access to payment card numbers.
  • Content, such as the photos, videos, articles, files, and other links you may upload to the app.
  • Messages that you exchange with other users through the app via direct message or communications in a group. We may review the contents of these messages if a user reports, or we otherwise detect, a potential trust and safety violation or potentially illegal or illicit activity.
  • User contacts that you may choose to share with us to help us easily let you send event invitations and notifications to them.
  • Product usage information, such as the information you provide to us when you interact with our services, including information about the products you use or purchase on the app (i.e., the product information, date of purchase, and information relating to any support issue).
  • Communications that we exchange with you, including when you contact us with questions, feedback, or otherwise.
  • Marketing information, such as your preferences for receiving communications about our services and publications, and details about how you engage with our communications.

Information we obtain from other sources

  • Social media information. We may maintain pages on social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram. When you visit or interact with our pages on those platforms, you or the platforms may provide us with information through the platform.
  • Third-party logins. When you link, connect, or login to the app with a third party service (such as Google), you direct the service to send us information as controlled by that service or as authorized by you via your privacy settings at that service.
  • Google Calendar integration. With users’ explicit authorization, we use the Google Calendars API to read the times during which users are busy (i.e. have scheduled events) from users’ Google calendars. We use this information to determine when users who belong to a group are available at the same time to participate in a group activity. We then inform the group of their common availability and facilitate scheduling of the group’s activity on the app. After the activity is scheduled, we add the event to the group’s calendars. We do not share users’ Google calendar data with anybody, and do not store users’ Google calendar data. We may also obtain users’ contact information, such as email addresses, through this integration.

Automatic data collection

We, our service providers, and our advertising partners may automatically log information about you, your computer or mobile device, and your interaction over time with our services, such as:

  • Device data, such as your computer’s or mobile device’s operating system, manufacturer and model, browser type, IP address, unique identifiers, language settings, mobile device carrier, and general location information such as city, state or geographic area; and
  • Usage data, such as pages or screens you viewed, how long you spent on a page, browsing history, and access times.

Cookies are text files that websites store on a visitor‘s device or in the browser for the purpose of helping you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, enabling functionality, helping us understand user activity and patterns, and interest-based advertising.
